Bowling information for Friday, March 7th

If you would like to join 5G and 2M in our bowling fun, please meet us at the alley (North Shore Bowl, 141 West 3rd Street in North Van) around 12:45 pm.

If you would like to pick your child up from the alley, please be there by 2:15 pm.

It will be a great way to end off our week. It is always so wonderful to see the relationship between the two grades grow as our 5G buddies help the little ones with their school work, carefully choose books to read to them and patiently listen to their 2M buddy tell them about their day. It is a fun time of our week, and I'm happy that 2M has organized this great activity for us!

We had a great time at Joseph! Our class were exemplary audience members, and they make me so proud.

Homework!

This link will help you to complete your mapping assignment, helping us understand the Kosovo-Serbia current events issue. Students are responsible for completing Part A of the Mapping worksheet for Friday.

The bowling buddies party tomorrow afternoon means that the students can come to school in their civvies. Our day begins with P.E., so keep that in mind when choosing an outfit. Wearing the P.E. kit and changing afterwards is an option. I know that the weather is beautiful, but if you choose sandals, please pack socks for the bowling shoes. Eww.

There is a spelling quiz on Friday -- review those words on the bright yellow sheet!

Remember to bring in signed Poetry tests adn the hot-pink Mining Permission form.

We're off to enjoy Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat - I'll post photos when we get back!

5G off to see Joseph!

On Thursday, March 6th, Grades 4 and 5 have been invited to see a matinee performance of Joseph, hosted by our Morven counterparts at the Kay Meek Centre. This trip will take place in the afternoon, and students will be back in time for regular pick-up.

Please send your child to school wearing their Number One uniform as we go out to represent our school in our community.

Thank you!

Another week!

Hello! I hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend - the weather was great!
Here is the run down for homework this week:

  • Spelling words can be found on a bright yellow sheet in the agenda. Students should hand write each word twice on the line and use this to study for the quiz on Friday.
  • All students have completed their Procedure for the Science Fair - let the experiments begin! Let's aim to have the Experiments completed by Thursday so the class can spend a period in the computer labs creating the charts and graphs associated with their project.
  • Poetry tests are marked, and I need two more students to write the test this week when they are well enough. It will then be sent home for your signature. So far, the results have been great, and I continue to be impressed by the class.
  • There is a Music Exam on Tuesday.
  • There is a French dictee on Tuesday.
  • Multiplying and Dividing Fractions test on Wednesday.
  • Problem Solving homework due next Monday:
The Match
Swimmers
String Out

Thank you!
